For the research I found this week was from facebook, I started following a photographer, flicksbyjosh ( there is no spacing in his facebook page, but he is worth checking out because his work is amazing.) I found him through Samantha from class. I saw some of his shots that used slow shutter speed/ long exposures. I have been dieing to try to use this mode for quite a long time but I didn't know how to do it so I looked up instruction online.
I found this on google
I found this incredible helpful on my trials.
This is called tunnel vision, by flicksbyjosh, in august 2016
This was the first one that I saw on facebook, which I am guessing put on a slow shutter speed/ long exposure, because This high way be packed, I just wonder how he managed to get in that position in the first place it would be extremely awkward particularly with a tripod. potentionly dangerous. But I like how one side is lit up and one side is dark is very visually appealing.
I can guess this photo was taken at night time because even though the sky is slightly lit up, from what i know about long exposure is that it makes the sky look lighter than it actually is. I love how the colour is being used in this photo and that it portrays that time is flying by. there isn't anything I don't like about this photo.
Stephanie, Dorothy and me stayed late at school to try practising some long exposure and night photography, Stephanie all ready has some prior experiance with long exposure shots from her last photography class. We started taking photos around 6. 30 pm. we had a little trouble because it started raining and we had to stay under cover.
My responses to josh's photos are:
ISO: 200
Aperture: 4.0
Shutter Speed: Bulb
Auto White Balance.
What went wrong in this photo is that I had my aperture down way to low. I held the shutter down for 10 seconds, and in turn basically turned this photo to over exposed. I kind of like it because it has a dreamy feeling to it albeit more like a nightmare than a pleasant dream.
ISO:100
Aperture: 25.0
Shutter speed: bulb
Duration: 20 seconds.
This was my second attempt after stephanie pointing out that my Aperture was to low, so i threw the aperture as High as I could. It turned out all right, What I like most is that the trafic in the background is streaking in the background but it basically is to small to really enjoy it, otherwise this photo isnt that special.
This is the same settings and time as above.
I like this one because it is a new angle and it looks kind of cool, What I have noticed is that because of the type of lighting that was around us all the lighting in my photos are all a sickly yellow colour, I dont really like this.
Same settings and time as above.
I just love how the lights look like they have turned into stars.
Same settings as above but the time duration was only 11 seconds.
This was my first "ghost" picture. I captured this by mistake, Stephanie was using my phone trying to look something up and I decided to take a photo but then she moved so I stoped taking the photo and this is what i got. I was plesantly surprised.
These are the rest of the good photos that I took
